From leadership to legacy: why we built VisionNext.

As VisionNext Consulting, we are proud to share our story — not as a single voice, but as a collective of educators and leaders dedicated to the future of international schools. This reflects our shared perspective, our founding team's mission, and the legacy that inspires us.

In the world of international education, we often talk about the "ripple effect." One decision in the director's office can impact hundreds of students, dozens of faculty members, and an entire community of families. After decades spent leading in schools across the globe, our team at VisionNext realized we wanted to move beyond the boundaries of a single campus to support the entire ecosystem of international education.

We are thrilled to officially introduce VisionNext Consulting, a consultancy built by practitioners, for practitioners.

The spark: a legacy of giving back

While VisionNext is a new chapter for us as a collective, its heart is rooted in the lifelong work of our co-founder, Dr. Gregory Hedger. Throughout his career — spanning leadership roles across the globe, most recently as Director of The International School Yangon — Greg has been a champion for quality international education.

As Greg transitioned from directorship, he felt a profound calling to give back to the community that shaped him. He didn't want to simply "retire" his expertise; he wanted to pass it forward. VisionNext is the vessel for that desire. It is our way of ensuring that the hard-won lessons, the crisis-tested strategies, and the deep commitment to the international community are available to the next generation of school leaders and boards.

The power of four: a 360-degree perspective

We believe that no single person has all the answers. The challenges facing international schools today — from AI integration and cybersecurity to complex governance and reputational management — are too multifaceted to address with a single approach.

That is why we have brought together four core partners, each offering a distinct strength. Beyond our core four, we work with a dedicated network of associates. These specialists in niche areas enable us to scale our support to meet the exact needs of any school, anywhere in the world.

Strategic pillars for international education

These areas represent our collective expertise and are the strategic pillars of all international schools.

Leadership & Governance. Building the frameworks that allow boards and heads to lead with clarity by aligning institutional mission with long-term fiduciary and generative oversight.

School Development & Management. Leveraging our extensive global experience to transform institutional vision into measurable academic and operational growth.

Crisis Readiness. We ensure that schools don't just react to emergencies but are built for resilience through proactive risk assessment and robust response protocols.

Communications & Marketing. Prioritizing the safety and psychological well-being of every community member by fostering transparent, trust-based narratives that resonate with stakeholders.

Technology & Systems. Integrating agile digital ecosystems that streamline administrative workflows while enhancing the pedagogical experience for students and faculty alike.

Operational Excellence. Fine-tuning the systems, finance, and marketing that keep a school thriving, ensuring that every resource is optimized for institutional longevity.

Our philosophy: the Inside-Out Advantage

Everything we do is guided by a single phrase: The Inside-Out Advantage. Many consultancies focus on the "outside" — the marketing, the PR, and the public-facing brand. We take a different view. We believe that if a school's internal culture is healthy, its leadership is aligned, and its systems are robust, then a positive external reputation is the natural byproduct. We don't just fix symptoms; we help you strengthen the heart of your institution.

Why we are doing this

We established VisionNext because we love international education and all the opportunities it has created for students all around the world. We know the unique joy of a graduation ceremony in a foreign land and the unique pressure of a campus-wide crisis. We have been in your shoes, and we know that leading schools can often feel like a lonely journey.

It doesn't have to be. VisionNext is your partner, mentor, and strategist — working with your school to support your vision.

We are here to help you navigate the "next" in your school's vision, backed by a team that has lived the experience and is now dedicated to your success. Let's look toward the future together.
